Every angler faces the problem of ‘what to do with excess nylon, fluorocarbon or dyneema line’ while fishing. As a fly fisher, we regularly replace our leader or tippet. The piece of excess nylon always remains and putting it in your pocket is not ideal. Really everything gets stuck in it and when you want to grab something, all sorts of things always end up with the nylon.

Of course, as fly fishers, we are aware of the need to minimise our impact on the environment and do our best to treat nature responsibly. Throwing away leftover nylon in nature is obviously not an option. It stays there for hundreds of years and is dangerous, especially for birds and other animals that can get entangled in it.
