The HD in the Waterworks Lamson Guru II HD Fly Reel stands for ‘heavy duty’ and this version of the Guru, unlike the standard Guru, has both a complete cage design (like the Arx) and type II finish in a pewter-tan colour. The Waterworks Lamson Guru II HD Fly Reel is a great affordable saltwater and/or Spey reel. This season Waterworks Lamson has updated Guru’s spool geometry for enhanced retrieve rates, opened the porting to reduce weight and improve line drying, integrated the counterbalance and introduced a curved cross section arbour for structural stability. Guru continues to prove that the quest for enlightenment can be anything but boring.
